Pulmonary Fibrosis and Hypertension in Dogs
Question
Hi,
My 14 Pomeranian, Forrest, has just been diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis and Pulmonary Hypertension. I know this is a terminal condition and the vet said all we could do would be to make him comfortable. He seems to only hassle and breathe hard at night. He is on Theophylline and Prednisione. Is there anything natural that I could give him instead?

Thank you for your inquiry to Holistic Pet Info. You may try Respo-K by Pet Alive, which does help with congestion and inflammation. Antioxidants and Immune supplements also support the body to slow the onset of disease and allow the body to heal and recover.
There is an off label drug often used for pulmonary fibrosis and hypertension. It is sildenafil also known as Viagra or Revatio. Though it may sound odd it does work well for lung function and exercise improvement. Best of luck.
