Using Arthroplex with Rimadyl

Question

I have a ten-year-old, 45 pound, neutered Airedale. Every Sept./October into November he has had allergies (goes on Prednisone) and once it freezes, he is fine. This year he was put on Rimadyl (as he has arthritis in both back knees) and does very well on it, but he can't take it right now because of being on the Prednisone. We have him on low-dose Tramadol to combat this and he seems pretty comfortable on his walks both AM and PM. I bought Arthroplex from you and just got it. I am hesitating to give it now after giving it some thought because I don't want to over-do anything.
Here is his regimen:
Pred EOD right now until the freeze....
One Claritin daily
1/2  of a 50 mg Tramadol q. six hours (mostly only 3 halfs a day)

Bromelain 700 mg Am and another 700 pm
2 Synovi chews daily
2 Senior vitamins
2 3/6/9 Omega 3 fatty acids capsules daily

Currently I am making his food.....in the morning he gets chicken breast with a hard boiled egg, in the evening he eats ground turkey mixed w/ brown rice and peas and carrots 

He is only taking Prednisone, Claritin and Tramadol for this short period of allergy time, but he is on all the others supplements year-round. He will go back on Rimadyl. Can I give him Arthroplex with his regimen now? And also, can I give Arthroplex with Rimadyl later?

Hello Anne,
Thank you for your inquiry to Holistic Pet Info. You may absolutely offer the Arthroplex with the regimen he is on at this time. It can be given with the Rimadyl as well as with the Tramadol if needed. The Arthroplex should be used in place of the Synovi chews, they both contain natural ingredients for joint inflammation and health. As far as the diet I would recommend adding as greater selection of proteins such as fish, venison and lamb and carbohydrates such as oatmeal, barley and quinoa. Vegetables should also be varied, this will help with minerals, fiber and natural antioxidants. Best of luck.
