Canine Basic Nutrients - Daily vitamins for dogs

This multiple vitamin-mineral formula can be used for dogs in all phases of life (see Canine Geriatric Basic Nutrients for senior dogs). It provides a broad range of nutrients, in a palatable form, to meet the needs of dogs.

With modern processed food and pollution of food, water, and environment, it is difficult to know whether dogs are getting all the basic nutrients needed for optimal health. By supplying these formulas early in life, or before a dog becomes ill, the quality of life can be enhanced.

Trace minerals (zinc, copper, iron, selenium) are supplied in the highly absorbable picolinate chelates, which are Thorne exclusives. Chromium is supplied as Thorne's patented Ultrachrome.

Vitamins B2 and B6 are provided as riboflavin 5'-phosphate and pyridoxyl 5'-phosphate, the active forms; dogs with hepatic dysfunction cannot properly convert the standard forms of these B-vitamins.

This formula goes a step further, providing more than just a basic vitamin-mineral complex, by the addition of the essential fatty acid GLA, methionine for liver detoxification, amino acids, HCl for enhanced absorption, and mixed flavonoids for extra antioxidant activity, connective tissue stabilization, and immune-enhancement.
