We rescued a dog from a shelter just over 6 weeks ago. He is a schnauzer mix about 4 years old, neutered, about 25 lbs. I took him for his shots to my vet of 20 years. I told her that he had a small bump on his back. After X-rays, ultrasound, biopsy, complete blood profile and talking to a vet oncologist, NO clear diagnosis has been given to us. He has very swollen glands , has lost appetite and sometimes vomits bile.
I have been feeding him canned food due to his vomiting. I’m changing his diet to high protein+antioxidant home made food and adding Omega3. I am considering your products as a supplement and to help him drain toxins from his lymph nodes.
Which of your product would be best suited for his current condition, Immugen or Small Animal Antioxidant….Please help, he deserves it.
Thank you very much.
Hello,
Thank you for your inquiry to Holistic pet Info. It’s good to hear you are putting him on a homemade diet, just make sure it’s balanced. I would start with minimal ingredients to make sure his system can handle the change and then add ingredients if his appetite returns and he ceases to vomit. (Has he been tested for pancreatitis?) A great reference for homemade diets is Dr. Pitcairn’s Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs and Cats.
Supplements I would recommend for his current condition would be Animal Essentials Plant Enzymes and Probiotics to take much of the work off his GI system and pancreas. I would also recommend the Small Animal Antioxidant over the Immugen as the Antioxidant contains curcumin, which is very anti-inflammatory for GI issues and if he happens to have a tumor somewhere. Best of luck.
