My dog just had a tumor removed from his leg and the vet said he will have to receive radiation treatment. This is the second time they removed it, the first time they said that is just fat . Rusty is a energetic 11 year old male. he love to chase birds an play with Nikki 3 year old and Coco 6 year old both female. We maintain his weight with the Nutro Senior. His weight is between 76-79. He is eating very well, always hungry.
We are trying to find the best wait to avoid having him go through radiation. Can you guide us to make a better treatment choice.
Hello,
Thank you for your inquiry to Holistic Pet Info. The best thing to do is support his immune system. You may offer Immugen and Super EPA both by Thorne and C-Caps by PetAlive. All three should help your dog’s immune slow down the replication of tumor cells and have anti-tumor properties.
Keep in mind that diet is VERY IMPORTANT to support your dog’s health. Good quality proteins (no by-products) with moderate fat diet are optimal and eliminating carbohydrates decrease the energy source for cancer cells. Cheap dog food is very detrimental to your dog’s health. Best of luck.
