Cat with Weak Immune System

Do you have a product that will increase a cat’s cell-mediated immunity function which will help fight against FIP in a cat that doesn’t have a good cell-mediated immunity function?  Or – will it just help build the cell-mediated immunity function in a cat that has normal cell-mediated immunity function? Thanks.

 Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry to Holistic Pet Info. Targeting a specific area of the immune system by differentiating the cell-mediated or humoral system is extremely difficult to do with supplements. Supporting the immune system as a whole in an animal with a viral disease should improve the ability to maintain good health. I recommend offering Immugen by Thorne  and fish oils both of which will support the immune system and decrease the inflammatory response if the virus is active.

Please be sure the cat is on a good quality protein and low to no grain diet. Carbohydrates in the diet are a burden on the feline liver, which builds the proteins that make up the immune system. Best of luck.
