Cat with Dermatitis

My 10yr old male cat developed a skin dermatitis on his belly.  The vet gave him a shot of prednisone and called it good and within 24hrs.  the cat developed a sneezing condition that lasted 10 days  After a couple of months the skin condition returned with a vengeance.  I then changed his diet to Rad Cat raw Lamb.  Six months ago he also started belching and passing gas and continues to do so  after the switch to Rad Cat  the last month. I ordered Digestive Support from Petalive which he as been taking for just the last week but we are still battling the skin condition as well although there is some improvement.   I am impressed with the advice and would like to know if adding Immugen would be of benefit and if I can give along with Digestive Support.  I do not want to overload his system….      Thank you in advance, Cindi

Hello Cindi,

If your cat has improved but still has the skin condition, I would recommend changing the diet again. You may need to change it a few times before he responds more appropriately. Some animals cannot digest the raw completely and may have chronic “gas” issues. If you prefer to continue him on the raw diet I suggest the Digestive Support or Gastriplex and adding the Immugen should not be an issue if given together.

His immune system will benefit from both supplements no matter what diet he is on, especially as he gets older. Also, please be sure that the diet you are offering is complete and balance as that may compound any immune or systemic problems. Best of luck.

Sincerely,

Colleen Smith DVM, CVA
