Cat with Chronic Renal Failure

I have an elderly Abyssinian with diagnosed Chronic Renal Failure.   He has been on SubQ fluids (Normosaol-R) for almost 2 years. He gets Normosol-R with KCL 2x daily at home with me now, 120 mls per session.  Are there any B vitamins I can inject into the fluid sack to help with nutrition? The cat is down to about 6.5 lbs.
Sincerely,
Lavinia

Hello Lavinia,

You may add B complex to the fluids at 2-4 cc per 1 liter bag, it will not interfere with the additional KCL. Your veterinarian should be able to order it for you.

There are also several supplements that should help: Renal Essentials by Vetri-Science helps renal blood flow and detoxifies and omega 3 fatty acids such as Super EPA by Thorne or Fish Oil Plus by Animal Essentials help preserve renal architecture and decrease inflammation. Best of luck.
