Feline Aggression

Question:

I am trying to find some kind of supplement to give my cat that is very aggressive towards my other cat.  It is FIV positive, so I do not want to cause it harm by giving it something that can decrease its immune system.  Do you have any recommendations or know of someone I can ask?

Thank you for your inquiry to Holistic Pet Info.  First a few questions… are your cats neutered? Are both cats indoor only? If either or both aren’t fixed that would be the first thing I would suggest. Also, some cats that have been able to go outside become restless and anxious without that regular activity. Increasing play time with both cats will help to relieve some stress. It’s best to give both cats their space. Feline behaviorist recommend having a litter box per cat plus one extra and you may consider two separate feeding areas. 

There are some supplements I suggest you may try. Pet Alive Aggression Formula is a homeopathic that may help as well as Rescue Remedy, a flower essence that works well to relieve anxiety. Both are carried by the Holistic Pet Info website. Feliway, an environmental feline pheromone, works very well to decrease the stress levels in a common meeting area.  Best of luck.
