Allergies in Dogs and Cats - Natural Treatments

Cat or Dog with Allergies? Treat the causes, not just the symptoms.

Cats and dogs, like humans, can develop hypersensitivity allergies but their symptoms are slightly different. Dogs and cats allergy symptoms include:

  • Ear infections
  • Chewing on feet and legs
  • Hot spots, inflammed skin
  • General itchiness resulting in excessive scratching
  • Sneezing, watery eyes

Treating allergies in cats and dogs can be a frustrating process and so pet guardians often rely on steroids and antihistamines to alleviate the symptoms. While this may help in the short term, a better, long term approach would be to identify the allergens and reduce your pets exposure to them. Additionally, supporting your cat or dog's immune system, changing their diet and reducing inflammation will result in a happier, and more importantly, healthier pet.
